The International Chair in Data Science and Explainable Artificial Intelligence was established in Sept, 2018 to develop a roadmap that starts from Industry 4.0 to reach Industry 5.0 and beyond which drives sustainability since 2018. 

On September 6, 2023, the International Chair in Data Science and Explainable Artificial Intelligence has celebrated its 5th birthday anniversary at the International Conference "Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Industry 5.0", a conference held by International Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Dong A University.

Currently, the International Chair has 30 members who are scholars and researchers in a lot of prestigious Universities and institutes in the world. We have 5 professors, 4 associate professors, 6 assistant professors, a lot of Doctors and PhD students.

From the date of establishment, the International Chair has made some remarkable achievements. We have 11 articles in 2019, 4 articles in 2020, 7 articles in 2022, and 6 articles in 2023 in international journals. We have had Chapters on several books, specifically 6 chapters in 2023 and 2 chapters in 2022. Besides, the International Chair also contributed to proceedings in some conferences. From 2021 to 2023, the Head of International Chair in DS and XAI, Senior Associate Professor Kim Phuc Tran, has published 3 books specializing in Artificial Intelligence.

The International Chair will form a joint Research Institute of Vietnam and France in close cooperation with other universities in the next 10 years. This symbiotic collaboration endeavours to foster an environment of and nurture the advancement of junior scientists' careers, one of the significant objectives of the International Chair.
