Dong A University Celebrates the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and Receives the Emulation Flag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour

On November 20, Dong A University held a ceremony to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 – 20/11/2025) and received the Emulation Flag awarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

At the ceremony, Dong A University was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for excellent work performance and in building a strong trade union organization during the 2024–2025 academic year.

This recognition follows the Emulation Flag presented by the People’s Committee of Da Nang City for outstanding and exemplary achievements in the city’s patriotic emulation movement for the 2020–2025 period, awarded during the Opening Ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year, as well as ten consecutive years of similar recognitions prior to that.

On this occasion, the University also commended and acknowledged the remarkable efforts and series of outstanding achievements by its students and faculty, with 35 awards in academic competitions, foreign languages, scientific research and startup activities, professional skills, arts and sports at national and regional levels during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Speaking at this year’s Vietnamese Teachers’ Day celebration, Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao – President of Dong A University – highlighted the diverse achievements of the University’s faculty and students. She noted, “Just ahead of November 20, on November 15, Dong A University held the White Coat Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of the International Doctor of Medicine Program, academic intake 2025–2031, welcoming one class of Indian students alongside a class of Vietnamese students. This marks a significant milestone in the University’s strong internationalization efforts.

In quality assurance, 2025 records 22 training programs meeting national quality standards, in addition to four programs recently completing AUN-QA assessment in October, and two consecutive 5-year cycles of institutional accreditation. Research activities among faculty members resulted in 89 scientific publications in reputable national and international journals. Student research and startup projects have also been strongly promoted, with an increasing number of projects applying AI and advanced technologies to develop products and initiatives serving community needs.

Regarding cooperation and student employment, 65 new partnerships with enterprises were established in 2025, raising the total number of partners to 761. In 2025 alone, over 300 students from various disciplines participated in international study, internship, and work programs in key markets such as Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, the United States, and Germany, bringing the total number of students who have undertaken or are undertaking international internships and employment to 990.”

“In an era of intellectual challenges, the University continues to advance towards 17 major objectives, including two key priorities: the Faculty and Staff Development Program, and the Training Program enabling students to meet international work-readiness outcomes and cultivate a responsible culture of contributing to the community and the nation,” Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao added.

Amid the vibrant and uplifting spirit of the season honoring educators, the University’s community engagement journey continued with heartfelt meaning as the University and its Trade Union contributed over 50 million VND in support for lecturers, staff, and students whose families suffered severe losses during the storms and floods in October and November across the central provinces.

Earlier, on October 20, the University also contributed nearly 600 million VND to support and stand with residents, students, and faculty members in the Northern and North Central regions affected by the natural disasters and floods of 2025; and organized visits and aid deliveries to families of lecturers and trade union members in flood-affected areas of Hue City and Da Nang.
