This is the first blood donation in 2023 and the 35th voluntary blood donation day at Dong A University, organized by the Youth Union of Dong A University in collaboration with Danang Youth Union and Hue Central Hospital.

As an annual activity at Dong A University, voluntary blood donation is a beautiful gesture in the culture of responsibility to the community and society of students but also powerfully spreads positive spiritual values, adding hope and life to those who need help with a timely blood supply.

From the early morning of April 12, hundreds of students and lecturers of Dong A University were present and lined up orderly to register and participate in voluntary blood donation. Participating in the "rate" of blood donation early to continue the volunteer work at the festival, student Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Trinh - From Marketing Department excited: "This is the second time I participate in blood donation after the first time at "The Red Sunday" program taking place at the school. I feel that I have a greater sense of health and life is more meaningful and positive since participating in blood donation and community programs at the school.”

Not only participating in the first and second times, many students of Dong A University have become familiar faces in the school's community programs and voluntary blood donation days. Le Khanh Hiep - a final year student of Automotive Technology, said: "Almost every time the school organizes it, I register and participate in blood donation. I do not even remember how many times I have donated blood until now. Every time I participate, I feel thrilled because I can donate some of my blood to those who need help.” It is known that Khanh Hiep is also an active member in frontline support against the Covid-19 epidemic at Danang field hospital. 

Interestingly, this blood donation day also has the participation of exchange students from France. Excited and grateful for this good gesture for the community by many students of Dong A University, Emma Pendolino – a 4th-year student of the exchange program between Dong A University and ENSAIT Institute, University of Lille, France, who currently has an Internship at IAD Institute, Dong A University, decided to participate in blood donation. It is known that this is also Emma's first time participating in voluntary blood donation.

As part of the community responsibility chain of Dong A University students, the voluntary blood donation festival has been organized by Dong A University since 2006, with more than 12,000 blood units donated. Each year, the Youth Union organizes at least two voluntary blood donations, each round collecting from 300-400 blood units and, in some years, up to 600 units. “Besides, the Dong A University delegation also maintains a live blood club with members standing 24/7 to support warm blood. Until now, 1,087 units of rare blood and emergency platelets have been supported for patients suffering from serious illnesses, accidents, etc,." said Mr. Le Dinh Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Union of Dong-A University.
