On February 13, Wakayama National University, Japan and Dong A University officially signed an MoU on the exchange program of students and lecturers.
The MoU with Wakayama National University is the 5th MoU signed between Dong A University and universities in Japan, besides, 8 provinces and cities and 128 corporations and businesses in this country are strategic partners on job development for students in Japan. Mr. Luong Minh Sam - President of the Board of Dong A University and Mr. ITOH Chihiro - Rector of Wakayama University signed the MoU.
Regarding the student exchange program, according to the signed document, Wakayama University, Japan will offer from 2 full scholarships to students of the Department of Japanese Language and Culture at Dong A University with Japanese language proficiency from N2 upwards to Japan to study and experience for 2 semesters. These are scholarships for language and cultural exchange students between the two universities, starting every year, from 2023.
At the same time, on the opposite side, Dong A University will also accept exchange students from Wakayama University to study and experience at Dong A University according to flexible designed programs: 1-semester study, internship or short-term exchange program.
Regarding the teacher exchange program, in the immediate future, the two schools will exchange with teachers of Japanese language and Tourism faculty to study and exchange experiences in Japan. In the following years, the two schools will expand the exchange of lecturers in faculties of Information Technology and Economics.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. ITOH Chihiro - Rector of Wakayama University affirmed: “Today's signing is the beginning of a long-term strategic cooperation between the two universities. And from the similarities in the strong training industry that the two schools possess such as Economics, Information Technology, Tourism, etc., the two sides will have more advantages in developing academic and educational exchanges between faculties and the two schools following this cooperation.”
Simultaneously, assessing that Vietnam's economic development in recent years is very strong and is on an increasing trend, Mr. ITOH also expressed his expectation to expand other fields of cooperation between Wakayama University and Dong A University as well as with Da Nang city in the future.
