On June 12th, IAD received a notification email that our project is one of the 35 projects that passed the preliminary round of the STIC Research and Publishing Seed Grant competition.
On Jun 12, 2024, Dr. Quoc Thong NGUYEN, Director of IAD and also PI of our STIC project, received a notification email that our project was selected for the STIC Communication Workshop 2024 and will be presented at the STIC Research and Publishing Seed Grant competition on the next July, 2024 in Lao.
Accordingly, our project representative (member of IAD) will participate in a 5-week Communication Workshop from June 19 – July 3, 2024 to prepare the effective communication through poster presentation. This workshop is designed to prepare participants for effective communication through poster presentations. Participants like us will learn storytelling, data presentation, and how to clearly articulate the value of their project.
After the completion of Communication Workshop, we will attend the conference in Vientiane, Laos, from July 17-19, 2024 (Poster Showcase) and compete for cash prizes valued at $12,500 USD in seed funding to further develop projects.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Office of Multilateral Affairs (EAP/MLA) and implemented by Arizona State University (ASU), the U.S. – ASEAN Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation (STIC) Program aims to strengthen science, technology, and innovation cooperation between the U.S. and the ASEAN member states.
This 3-year program focuses on three major activities:
- A U.S.-based science, technology, and innovation policy study tour in Washington D.C.
- An online portfolio of upskilling content through a Virtual Talent Mobility Portal
- An annual regional conference with technical and innovation tracks and grant competitions for research, publishing, and venture creation.
