The International Workshop was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, ENSAIT and GEMTEX, University of Lille, and co-operation with the International Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Dong A University, on December 21st 2022.
The International Workshop was organized for the first time with the collaboration between organizers of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, ENSAIT and GEMTEX, University of Lille, and co-operator with the International Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Dong A University.
Aims and scopes:
The workshop “E-textiles, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence with applications in Healthcare” provides an international forum for presenting new research and exchanging practical experiences.
Motivation:
As the world's aging population continues to present a mounting challenge for the economy, the demand for elderly care and health services is rapidly increasing. This increased demand for healthcare professionals, facilities, and treatments places an enormous strain on society's resources and the economy. In light of these challenges, it becomes imperative to develop cutting-edge technologies and systems that can support and enhance elderly care.
Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) has emerged as a critical enabler in the progression toward Industry 5.0. Industry 5.0 fosters various innovations that optimize medical practice and patient care in the healthcare sector. The advent of Big Data has given rise to a new era of intelligent and efficient healthcare, and XAI has the potential to unlock even further advancements in health outcomes and reduction of the economic burden.
The international workshop flyer
The international workshop drew to the end with great success. Speakers shared novel studies about wearable technology and its application in some fields, especially healthcare, and practical experiences when researchers work with companies and organizations. The workshop became successful when researchers received HCMUT students’ questions, and their questions were solved. The workshop is a chance to connect researchers for wearable technology research projects in the future.
Prof. Xianyi Zeng presented the “Intelligent clothing for online monitoring of fetuses” study
Senior Assoc. Prof. Kim Phuc Tran presented the “Designing ECG monitoring healthcare system with Federated Learning and Explainable AI” study.
Assoc. Prof. Guillaume Tartare presented the “Smart Textiles and Their Applications” study.
Assoc. Prof. Vo Tuong Quan presented the "Applications of IoT and smart care in textiles" study.
M.D. Tho Nguyen introduced Dong A University (UDA) Campus. The educational program has four sections (Economics, Engineering, Healthcare, and Foreign Languages and Education), separated into 36 majors and managed by 17 faculties. Apart from the program, he also shared the UDA’s collaboration framework with international and domestic partners.
M.D. Tho also shared about IAD. IAD was established in 2017 by four initial members (Kim Phuc Tran, Cédric Huechnne, Phuong Hanh Tran, and Thi Hien Nguyen). Now, IAD has 22 members working in France, Belgium, and Korea,…in this number; Kim Duc Tran, Phuong Hien Tran, and Tho Nguyen are permanent members at IAD. During five years, IAD has published more than 23 papers, 18 proceedings, 08 book chapters, and projects on implementing Artificial intelligence and Data Science in healthcare.
One of the most important programs of IAD is International Chair in Data Science and Explainable Artificial Intelligence.
The head of the Chair is Senior Assoc. Prof. Kim Phuc Tran.
Goal: The Chair aims to develop new theoretically and computationally solid Data Science and Explainable Artificial Intelligence techniques with a comprehensive class of applications in Manufacturing, Healthcare, Business, and Finance.
Vision: The International Chair in Data Science and Explainable Artificial Intelligence will establish a Joint Research Insitute in Vietnam & France in the next five years. The prominent organizations are the University of Lille, France, and Dong A University (UDA), Vietnam, where IAD is the key organization and a representative of UDA.
Presentative research team, M.D. Tho Nguyen presented the “Wearable Technology for Workplace Safety in Smart Manufacturing” topic. This is the result of the collaboration between IAD (UDA), HCMUT, Vietnam and Lille, France.
