Dong A University starts the 2025–2026 Academic Year

Dong A University officially launched the 2025–2026 academic year with a grand opening ceremony that brought together city leaders, diplomatic representatives, business partners, high school principals, faculty, and over 3,600 new students.

1. Commitment to education and community development

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan – Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee – highly commended the university’s strong contribution to human resource training in alignment with the city’s and the nation’s development needs. He emphasized the institution’s long-term vision and innovation in key fields such as economics, engineering, tourism, languages, and health sciences.

The university has been aligning its academic strengths with strategic industries, including AI, semiconductors, information technology, logistics, and sustainable tourism. With over 150 international and 500 domestic partners, Dong A University has built a wide cooperation network, supporting scientific research, innovation, and student exchange while promoting opportunities for graduates to gain work experience abroad.

2. Recognitions and achievements

The ceremony also honored the university’s recent achievements. Dong A University received the Emulation Flag of Da Nang People’s Committee for its outstanding contributions to the city’s development between 2020–2025. In 2024, the institution was awarded a Certificate of Merit for excellence in promoting innovation in education and training, while in 2023 it was recognized for its successful implementation of the national education reform agenda.

3. High-quality student intake

Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thanh Viet – Vice President of Dong A University – proudly noted the outstanding achievements of the 2025 cohort:

  • 202 students scored above 24 in the national high school graduation exam, with several reaching 27–28.

  • 2,995 students achieved over 19 points, with many having strong academic records (GPA ≥ 8.0).

  • More than 83% of incoming students demonstrated excellent academic readiness, alongside notable achievements in research, arts, sports, and cultural activities at provincial and national levels.

These numbers affirm the growing academic reputation of the university and the trust placed in it by students and families nationwide.

4. Scholarships and opportunities

To support its new students, Dong A University awarded scholarships from the Cherry Blossom Fund, worth over 43 billion VND. This included more than 200 full, partial, and 30% tuition scholarships for top-performing entrants, as well as thousands of merit-based scholarships valued at 7 million VND each.

Additionally, more than 110 special scholarships – such as the Vietnam–Japan Bridge Scholarship, scholarships from the Consulate General of China in Da Nang, and awards from corporate partners – were presented to outstanding students.

In Đắk Lắk campus, a parallel ceremony earlier in September also provided nearly 6 billion VND in scholarships to new students.

5. Innovation, research, and global pathways

The opening day also celebrated the winners of the 2025 Student Scientific Research and Startup Competitions. At the “UDA Startup Innovation 2025” final, 15 teams showcased innovative projects, many integrating AI and digital technology into practical solutions.

Career opportunities remain strong: leading global corporations such as Foxlink Da Nang and Luxshare ICT Nghe An are recruiting graduates, while international internships and overseas employment programs continue to expand. In 2024 alone, 247 students (12% of graduates) started their careers in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and Germany.

6. A vibrant start to university life

Following the academic ceremony, first-year students joined inspirational workshops on topics such as “AI and Future Careers,” “University Learning Methods,” and “Love on Campus.”

The day concluded with a student welcoming night, themed “Symphony of Knowledge and Dreams”. The highlight was a multilingual choral performance of “Continuing the Story of Peace” by 500 students, delivering a message of hope, peace, and international integration.

Conclusion

The 2025–2026 opening ceremony at Dong A University not only marked a new academic journey but also reaffirmed the institution’s mission: nurturing talent, advancing research and innovation, expanding international cooperation, and fostering social responsibility. With strong partnerships, scholarship support, and a commitment to sustainable development, the university continues to empower students to contribute to a brighter future for Da Nang, Vietnam, and the global community.
